CompForm™ Composite Preforming

American GFM Corporation's CompFormTM preform process uses ultraviolet light (Heraeus Noblelight America's F300S irradiator with 'V' bulb) to cure a fiberglass composite preform.

Preforms are used in the manufacture of composite parts that are closed molded via various liquid composite molding processes. The preform, which is formed into the shape of the mold, is placed into the mold and then the resin is introduced and the final product produced.

Benefits of CompForm process:

  • Significantly increases preform production
  • Allows easy placement of structural reinforcements
  • Makes liquid composite molding processes high volume capable
  • Allows use of virtually any reinforcement material
  • Case Study - Truck Grills
