Heraeus Noblelight America's long-life, special fill bulbs, typically D and V, offer greater curing power for high opacity inks. These bulbs provide high curing rates with low-heat output and zero shrinkage or distortion of heat sensitive films.
Typically, a UV curing station accompanies each ink or coating station. For wide web printing, a row or multiple rows (depending on line speeds and chemistry) of Light Hammer® 10 or F600S UV lamps in a MLS light shield span across the entire width of the printing press.
These systems provide excellent cross-web uniformity and output consistency. Uniformity is higher than comparable multi-lamp arc lamp systems, and individual lamp modules can be changed out or replaced without affecting uniformity at all.
Narrow web, ink jet, plastic card and other narrow line printing can typically use just one or two F300S or Light Hammer® 6 UV lamps in a MLS light shield or custom light shielding depending on the substrate handling method and size.
Retrofitting Heraeus Noblelight America's lamps into an existing press may be possible. For new, high production lines, we work with a variety of line integrators and press manufacturers who specialize in material handling, ink and coating application, and controls, and who incorporate our system into the line or press.
