Heraeus Noblelight America’s long-life, special fill bulbs, typically D and V bulbs, offer greater curing power for pigmented UV powder coatings. Typically, Heraeus Noblelight America’s modular UV lamps Light Hammer® 10 or F600S, are mounted onto a fixture, which allows the flexibility to adjust in different orientations to efficiently cure a variety of three-dimensional part sizes and shapes. Most parts are hung on a conveyor and simply pass into a UV curing chamber, which houses the UV lamps on fixtures.
In general, most powder coated parts are large and three dimensional, so the UV curing is carried out in the far field, not in focus. We generally recommend using our optional far-field reflectors, which provide higher irradiance over a larger area in the "far field".

Retrofitting Heraeus Noblelight America’s lamps into an existing paint line may be possible. For new, high production lines, we work with a variety of line integrators who specialize in putting together the material handling, powder coating application, melt/flow and preheat ovens and controls, and who also incorporate our UV systems into the line.
